BIOGRAPHY
Peter Kilby is an artist, travel writer and tour advisor who delights in creating travel magic in
Italy for you. He still believes that as varied as his clients have been over the years,
travel in all its forms should be a highlight in a person's life.

Peter's travels to Italy began in 1980, when he spent time in Rome, Florence and Venice.
Then followed several years of periodic travel in Europe, including living in London in 1981
1982. His work in Australia included TV and theater set design, and exhibiting his painting.
In 1987 he was awarded an Italian Government Scholarship in painting that allowed him to
establish a new home and studio in Rome. He continued exhibiting his work in the UK and
Australia, whilst immersing himself completely into Italy's profound history, and always
surrounded by great works of art. In Italy Peter exhibited his painting in 1988, 1989, 1990,
1994, 1996, 1998 and 2000. In March, 2008 Peter was lecturing in history and art at
Xavier College in Melbourne and will return in August to give a series of Master Classes at
Scotch College, also in Melbourne, Australia. He is still painting out of his studio near
Montepulciano in Tuscany and is currently working towards shows in Australia.

Rome is Peter's joy and at times his nemesis! He brings the city alive and his knowledge
of its history is married always to his desire to make a discovery of the Eternal City a joy,
full of surprises and always entertaining. Now based in southern Tuscany, Peter has added
to his tour repertoire central Italy. Pienza, Montalcino, Cortona, Assisi, Orvieto and smaller
villages and monasteries can be visited with Peter and provide for a wonderful addition to
your holiday. Histories and traditions revealed - and one or two places where you can eat
like Lorenzo the Magnificent! Clients who have used his services both as a guide and
itinerary advisor in these regions and cities have said what a difference Peter made to their
visit. Local knowledge really does make a difference!

I believe Italy is quite simply one of the most beautiful and inspiring of countries to visit.
It's been more than 12 years since I began advising and considering the needs of
a traveller to Italy. I still enjoy the challenge, of discovering new locations, of being surprised
myself, and most of all, working with those who want me to help then enjoy this
   country even more . . . .

See you in Italy very soon.
